Reasons for the Popularity of Non-Invasive Procedures

By Brentz Walker

The stats show that there has been an overall increase in patients opting for non-invasive procedures. Tummy tucks are still popular, as well as breast augmentations, but less invasive procedures are becoming more widely accepted. In cosmetic surgery, non-invasive procedures are typically performed via injection or laser. There are many causes of the acceleration.

You have two choices with cosmetic surgery. You can hide away till the healing is done. Or, your second option is that someone you know will see you in the healing process with a bruise, a bandage or some other sign. Trying to keep it completely secret will not always work out.

On the other hand, non-invasive procedures are pretty hard to notice when done well. Sometimes people may sense something has changed about you, but can't quite pinpoint what it is. To have the procedure be less noticeable, using a non-invasive option like this is advised.

Most of us do not have time to recuperate in private. A great benefit from non-invasive options is that a patient will usually be able to return to work on Monday after having the procedure done the Friday before. In fact, the convenience factor is huge when comparing non-invasive procedures to standard cosmetic surgeries. The fact that it doesn't take much time makes it so that a patient can slip in for a fast Botox treatment at lunch time. A laser treatment on your day off is always a better use of your time than taking several vacation days to recuperate from a physically exhausting surgical procedure.

One can not have any procedure done without a measure of risk, even if it's tiny. Of the risks involved, the largest is with the general anesthesia that is used. Adverse reactions have been known to happen, and at times, they can be more severe. The patient is required to sign a waiver because of this. Other non-invasive options are available that can happen in an office environment, are much safer than surgeries that need general anesthesia.

Whether you want to call it an economic downturn or a recession, it is having an effect on cosmetic surgery and is one of the reasons for the increase in non-invasive procedures. The long and short of it is, it's less expensive to have a non-invasive procedure done. Cosmetic procedures are not typically paid for by health insurance plans; as these are elective surgeries. Many people need to save up for a procedure and, when the economy is tight, they may feel more comfortable setting that money aside for other needs.

Conversely, the price of a non-invasive procedure will not be nearly as high. The results of 10 minutes of Botox can make a patient just as happy as a face lift, but for much less money. Non-invasive procedures are a great, inexpensive solution in a tough economy.

Non-invasive procedures can be every bit as noticeable as the expensive surgical options. Having a procedure such as these is the result of a desire to look more youthful and to be more attractive. For those who would like to get rid of unsightly lines on their forehead or want some hair added, great benefits can be gained from a non-invasive procedure. Non-invasive procedures require much less risk, no general anesthesia, and can be performed in as little as 10 minutes. Many times you can even return to work. A lot of people see the benefit of getting great results, but having it be affordable and the recovery process much easier than more serious cosmetic surgery. These are some of the reasons that non-invasive procedures are on the rise at this time.
