Discuss With Your Physician The Connection Between Hypothyroidism, Diet, And You

By Dr. Kevin Dobrzynski

You may already recognize a strong connection between hypothyroidism, diet, and you.

I remain very confused about how most physicians do not confirm a connection between the food you eat and the condition of hypothyroidism. It is a mystery how he or she can blame diet as you struggle against gaining weight and dealing with symptoms.

It is a confusing situation when many doctors do not acknowledge a connection between what you eat and hypothyroidism. However, as you struggle to deal with symptoms and try to lose weight, these same physicians place the blame on what you eat.

If the answer is hesitant or absent, you will do yourself a favor by changing doctors. He or she should quickly tell you that it concentrates iodine and tyrosine to make thyroid hormones.

If you don't get a simple, quick, answer, run! The response should be... "The body makes thyroid hormone by concentrating iodine and tyrosine."

The next question you should ask is... "Where does my body get iodine and tyrosine" The answer, "your diet".

Where do you go for these necessary nutrients when your food does not supply them in sufficient amounts? There are supplements, but, they do not adequately replace a deficient diet.

So, if you don't get these nutrients from your diet, where would you get them? Obviously, you can take supplements, but supplements can't replace a poor diet.

Treatment protocol should be easy to configure when the cause of a disease is known. But, modern medicine does not always use that approach. The focus is often placed on the treatment rather than the cause. I wonder if you agree.

In what way does the diet and the environment where you live enable hypothyroidism or another disease to develop? The vitamins and minerals that are lacking allow toxicity of the body to cause it to break down.

The question then is, how does your diet and the environment you live in contribute to hypothyroidism or any other disease? Both of these things can make vitamin and mineral deficiencies, along with bodily toxicity likely to develop. The situation will, at some point, create a breakdown affecting your body and health.

Many more complex issues occur concurrently when disease strikes. But, is it a possibility that certain foods can heal your body? I think yes.

If your diet consists of healthy food, it will be beneficial to good health.

If you eat a healthy diet you will be healthy.
