Tips To Help You Enjoy Your London Yoga Class

By Liliana Mills

Have you decided to join a London yoga class? If you have you may have lots of questions going around your head that might be stressing you out. Most people have anxieties about going to their first session. You may be worried that people might laugh at you. You might also be concerned that you will fall over or that you will be forced to the front of the room. Do not panic, here is how to get the most of your class.

The first thing you need to do is appreciate that everyone feels the same way at the beginning. Your instructor will have introduced many people to yoga and they will help you to settle in and calm your nerves down. You can stand anywhere you like, you are not back in the school gym so put your fears aside.

Here are three tips that will help you to get the most out of your yoga class. So put on your stretchy clothes, grab your mat and fill up a bottle of water to take with you. Before you head out read these three tips and you will not only survive your calls, you will love it.

The first thing to know and prepare for is the breathing techniques. Breathing is very important as it helps deliver the vital oxygen your muscles need to help them stretch. Without accurate breathing you may struggle to get into the right positions. Breath in through your nose and not your mouth, if you do not do this naturally take some time to practice it. Pay attention to the way you inhale and listen to the advice from your instructor.

Paying attention in class is a must. You do not have to stand at the front but do make sure you have a clear view of your instructor. Do not copy the people in front of you as they may not be replicating the move correctly. Your instructor will be properly trained and will show you how to do the moves in the right way. Remember you will not be able to copy the move perfectly, listen to what you are told and the instructor will remind you not to push yourself too far.

The final guideline for you to follow is to pay attention to your own body. Use the mirrors on the walls to help you put your body in the right position. You also need to listen to how your body reacts. If a stretch is hurting a lot release the position and try it again without pushing yourself so hard. There is no way that you will be able to achieve all of the moves correctly the first time. Yoga is a difficult art form to master, do not be angry or frustrated if you find it difficult. Be patient and practice.

These guidelines will help you to make the most out of your experience in class. Let your mind wonder and relax as you go through each of the positions. Remember that everyone there is looking to gain the same benefits that you are, no one is there to laugh at others.

These tips should have prepared you for your London yoga experience. After a few sessions you will notice the improvements and the anxiety about heading to class will have abandoned you.
