There are so many foods around that, though delicious, are incredibly bad for you. While we can identify many of these foods on sight--most of the food you'll order at a fast food restaurant, for example, is quite enjoyable to eat but will do terrible things to your body and is made of far too many calories to even be considered healthy. But why don't you consider the foods that appear to be a perfectly acceptable thing to eat? What about some of those foods that you give to your kids? Keep reading to learn just what exactly a number of the most detrimental things in the world are to feed to your family members (or yourself).

One of the worst things on earth, believe it or not is a dish of macaroni and cheese. The make-on-your-own kind that you can buy, like Annie's or Kraft, is relatively acceptable but the kind you order in a restaurant is not. To work with one significant example: the macaroni and cheese meal for kids from the California Pizza Kitchen is incredibly unhealthy. This one food weighs in at more than a thousand calories, more than sixteen hundred milligrams of sodium and almost forty grams of saturated fat! This is not even remotely healthy.

How frequently do you pick up some sort of frozen pot pie from the freezer part of your grocery store? These seem like mostly wholesome last minute meals but they are actually full of calories that you don't need. Stouffer's pot pies, to use one example, hold over eleven hundred calories, sixty grams of fat and just about eighteen hundred milligrams of sodium. You may find yourself eating your entire recommended caloric intake if you are on a mission to lose weight--just by eating one of these things!

You are most likely under the impression that if you are going to have something from a sandwich shop, the vegetarian sandwich is your healthiest option, right? The genuine reality is that, since you will most likely putting dressings and other condiments in this sandwich as well, they are usually just as unhealthy as a sandwich packed with meat. The vegetarian sandwich out of Blimpies, for instance, contains almost twelve hundred calories, sixty grams of fat and more than thirty five hundred milligrams of sodium. Why do people imagine that is healthy?

Surely a salad, of all things, ought to be healthful. That's exactly what most people think. When we want some thing easy and healthy we usually turn toward a salad to fill us up with food that is good for us. Would you be surprised to find out, then, that there are some salads out there that are almost bad for you? TGI Fridays's Santa Fe chopped salad, to work with one example, features practically eighteen hundred calories. This is probably because the salad is the size of a huge dinner plate but consider it: do you want all of your caloric intake for the day to be used up by this one salad?

The truth is that most of the food that we acquire on the go or in restaurants is simply not going to be as good for us as the food we make ourselves. Sure cooking food at home can be a pain or feel monotonous, but if you're watching your weight and trying to stay healthy, it is the best thing you can do for yourself!
